An open letter to Phish

Thank you. I can not begin to tell you how much your music and shows have meant to me. The community that devolved around the band and the music was 'my community.' In a time when it is easy to be alienated from others, this community brought so many people together. I meant the love of my life on Phish tour. I have meant a lot of my friends on Phish tour. The music and tour got me through so many tough moments in my life and also shared some of the best moments of my life. The music has become the soundtrack of my life. Each song, each show has become tied to events in my life, to feelings, to friends. I can not imagine what it must be like to be under the pressure that you guys are under. Meaning so much too so many. But I hope you realize we are eternally grateful.

So after 10 years, 189 shows, 382 songs and countless memories, I take one deep breath pack up the car one last time and hit the road this summer to close an unbelievable chapter of my life. What does the future hold, who knows. But I know the music playing in the background will be PHISH.

Thank you for everything.

With tears and a smile,
Jeffery
