Woke at 7am burning up. The sun was cooking the inside of the tent and it was impossible to sleep. Got up and started to get things together to sell Lemonade for the day. Went and got ice which took around an 1 hour since the line was so huge. We decided to set up the stand in front of the car today since there was a good amount of traffic and we did not feel like dragging all of the stuff anywhere. We did fairly good business today. It was hot and the day seemed to drag on. We packed up around 3 and headed in to see Ani. We got fairly close for Ani. It was really really hot for her set and there was no shade. At times i felt like I may pass out. She did mostly new songs with a few old ones thrown in. The only one I had not heard recently was Untouchable Face. It is funny that even after she put out the DVD talking about how much she hates people sing along, everyone there was just singing along. She looks so annoyed.
After Ani we head over to the main stage to see Bob Dylan. For some reason I always thing of Dylan like 1965 Dylan. That he would be up there with just him and a acoustic guitar. Of course that is not the case and after a few songs we got board and head over to see String Cheese. String Cheese is just not my thing. Their songs tend to sound all the same to me. They are a little to upbeat, cheesy happy for my liking. Add to that the annoying hola hooping fans and I pretty much can not stomach SCI. I did want to see Gillian Welsh so we head over to one of the smaller tents to check her out. After a couple of songs of hers I noticed that my contacts we all wired. I went to the store to get eye drops but that still did not fix the problem. I realized that I had them in the wrong eyes. It had been so hot all day that I could not see straight anyway so I had not even noticed till now.
We then head toward the main stage to get a spot up close for the Dave & Trey show. They put on a fun set even though it was almost identical to the one we say in Oakland in Jan. For the encore Trey & Dave did a couple of solo songs. Trey sang waste which was pretty meaningful considering the break up announcement. I had never really noticed the line in the song "Don't want to do anything that I don't know when to stop" When I heard this I was speechless. The whole crowd seem to be taken off guard. This one line, which had always been in the song completely transformed meaning right that very moment. Trey put some extra emphasis on the line and there were definitely a few boos but most of us just seems shocked. They also did Bathtub Gin and the crowd sang the solo back to them. Eventually they quite playing and it was simply the crowd sing the guitar solo from Bathtub. Trey looked so happy and was definitely proud of the Phish legacy.
After the Dave & Trey set we went back to our camp and sold a few beers. I decided to head back to check out Vida Blue & Umphree's late night sets. Holly decided to crash. Back at Centeroo things were pretty crazy. There was 3 bands playing and a Mardi Gras parade going on. It was one in the morning but all the tents were jammed with people. I watched Vida Blue for a few songs but this seem very similar to the show I saw just last week at the Fillmore so I went over to Umphree's. They were definitely excited to be playing a late night Bonnaroo set and the energy was high. I listen for a couple of songs before I had to call it a night for as was just to exhausted from the heat earlier in the day.
