Then the sky just opened up...

Woke once again to extreme heat. Went and got ice early to avoid the horrible lines. I then came back and made Holly a bed in the front seat of the car and put on the AC so she could sleep. I then cooked some lemonade & coffee and got ready to sell for the day. We decided to drive up to find a place to set up closer to Centeroo. We find a parking spot and walked our table to set up. We were lucky that someone had left a easy up from yesterday and was not using it so we used it for shade. This was key since we both had gotten a lot of sun the day before.

We set up and sold most of the day. There was no one I really wanted to see on Saturday. I let Holly go in and check out Del McCoury for a while. We did pretty good today selling Lemonade and beer. It was never really busy but a nice mellow day. The person who we were set up in front of decided he was leaving. He was really pissed off with his friends and he was going to head home to GA. So we pulled the car around and parked right behind our table. A storm started to move in late in the afternoon so I grabbed the rain coat and head back to make sure the tent was set for a storm. I got there as the wind really started to pick up. I secured it into 4 season mood and head back to the car. It started to rain and by the time I reached the car I was soaked. It rained for awhile with some cool lighting as the storm moved in. I do miss thunderstorms. Around 6 we decided to pack up and go see Galactic. We grabbed our rain gear and headed in. After Galactic we head over to the main stage to see the Dead. When we got there Steve Winwood was just rapping up. As we waited for the dead it started to rain. And then it started to rain harder. And harder. Then the sky just opened up and dumped buckets of water. At times it looked like a wall of water in from of us. We finally decided to get out of the rain. Not sure why it took us so long to decided this. We walked over to one of the tents and found a spot to sit under it. At this point we soaked from head to toe. And we were starting to get cold. Hard to believe I was cold after two solid days of crazy heat.

After a while the rain stopped and we decided to go over and see the dead. On the way over we heard them playing Tenn. Jed. Turns out this was the first song. They had delayed the show because of the rain. Of course they didn't tell anyone this. We watch for around an hour. WOW...these guys are just bad. This is the 3rd time I have seen them in the last year and half and well everytime I am reminded of just how bad they are. If there is any better example of why Phish should break up I don't know it. These guys just played songs with no passion or direction. The setlist was a smashed together hits list with no real musically exploration involved at all. At least last summer with Joan she brought a new energy to the band. But as rumor has it she wanted a little more money and she is gone. I don't know if it is because I saw so many Jerry shows or not, but I really feel offended to what they are going to the music. Jerry had such a presence and a way to make this music come alive. With out him, they are just beating a dead horse. At one point we could see stars. It was just a relieve to see the sky clear after such a crazy storm. We stayed for basically the whole first set before we both could not stand it any longer and headed back to the car.

We sat in the car for while, changed, got dry and headed back to see some of the late night. We watched Robert Randolph a while. He was really good. The energy he brings is amazing, especially in contrast to the dead. After a while we head done to check out Primus. There was a big buzz around them. We got there before they took the stage. They finally went on around 1am. They had some really cool visuals projected on these 3 giant balls hanging above the stage. They actually we doing some jamming. I am really interest to grab a few recent Primus shows and to hear what they are doing with the music. After a few songs, exhaustion finally started to catch up with us. We went back to our tent and fell asleep to Primus playing in the distant.

Oh yea... that is my future wife. hehe
